Can Robot Replace Doctor?

Technology certainly has the potential to enhance a doctor's workflow and perhaps enhance their decision-making capabilities. However, no amount of technology can ever really replace what it means to be a doctor or the vitally important, individually tailored patient-physician relationship. Numerous procedures were successfully carried out by the STAR robot "much better" than by humans. Without human assistance, a robot successfully performed laparoscopic surgery on a pig, marking a significant advancement in autonomous medical treatment.

Surgical operations that use robotic systems are referred to as robotic surgery. In an effort to get beyond the drawbacks of existing minimally invasive surgical techniques and improve the skills of doctors performing open surgery, robotic aided surgery was created. In minimally invasive surgery with robotic assistance, the physician administers the instruments using one of two techniques rather than physically moving them. 

These consist of direct telemanipulation or computer-based control. A telemanipulator is a remote manipulator that enables the surgeon to carry out the typical surgical movements. The actual surgery is performed by the robotic arms employing end-effectors and manipulators.
